Strengthening and Securing Federal Networks Through Modernization

On September 27, 2017, the Center for Public Policy Innovation and Homeland Security Dialogue Forum convened a panel discussion on Capitol Hill featuring experts from across the government and the private sector on the topic of modernizing IT across federal agencies. Moderated by Mr. Luke McCormack, former Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the discussion highlighted a number of areas including best practices for managing the IT modernization process, how modernization lends itself to improved cybersecurity posture, and opportunities to deliver increased capability to operators and improve the citizen experience. The panel included Ms. Margie Graves, Acting Federal Chief Information Officer at the Office of Management and Budget, Mr. Joseph Klimavicz, CIO at the Department of Justice; and Mr. Steve Harris, Senior Vice President at Dell EMC.
